How to make bread with oatmeal in a bread machine

  1. First, I’ll make an important caveat: you need to use the sequence of adding products that is prescribed in the manual for your assistant so that baking is always successful. According to my instructions, the liquid ingredients go first, then the dry ingredients. That's why I did it. So, I rinsed the oven bowl with hot water. I poured in some warm milk. By the way, you can use water instead, but milk produces a more delicate texture.
  2. Added sugar and salt.
  3. Then added vegetable oil.
  4. Now it’s time to add flour. And then I had an incident. It turned out that I had run out of oatmeal. What to do? Urgently run to the store? If I were in a city full of supermarkets, I would do so without hesitation. But I was in the village, and it’s unlikely that I would have found what I needed in a village store. However, I was not confused - I just used the most ordinary penny instant oatmeal flakes. And since I didn’t have a coffee grinder, I used them in this form.
  5. And one more thing: regardless of whether you use whole flakes or flour, this does not affect the weight - we take strictly 60 g.
  6. After the cereal, I poured the sifted wheat flour into the bowl.
  7. I made a hole at the top of the flour mound and poured in the yeast.
  8. I placed a bowl in the oven, selected the “wholemeal bread” program (mine is No. 4), weight and medium crust. And left it to bake for 3 hours 21 minutes.
  9. After this time, my bread was already asking to come out of the mold. As you can see, he rose perfectly.

So I thought about it and came up with a new recipe for bread with oatmeal for the bread machine.

Despite the fact that I baked bread with oatmeal in a Philips 9046, this recipe is suitable for any model of bread machine.

As for the order of adding products, liquid/ingredients go first in Phillips, and then flour/yeast. If your order is different, then follow it.

So, pour water + vegetable oil into the bucket of the bread machine, then add sugar, salt, and dry milk. Measure out the required amount of flakes and add them.

All that remains is to add the sifted flour and yeast on top of the flour.

All preparations are completed, now you need to insert the bucket into the bread maker and make sure that it fits correctly.

Set the mode to either 1 or 2, in the Philips 9046 bread machine it is 1. “Baking white bread” and 2. “Quick baking white bread”, as you guessed, the difference in time is reduced in the second mode.

Set to 750 grams, I set the crust dark. The total cycle time was 2 hours and 55 minutes.

I always recommend looking at the bun while kneading, especially if you have not tried the recipe before. You need to make sure that the bun has exactly the right consistency. After touching it, you need to make sure that it is hard and holds its shape.

If it is very tight, then add a couple of tablespoons of water. If the bun does not seem so dense, then add a couple of tablespoons of flour.

Two batches, two proofings and the bread will be baked in the last hour of the cycle.
