Prepare Caesar Roll at home to see how tasty and healthy it is!

The Caesar Roll appetizer is not related to Japanese cuisine and does not contain rice. It is a thin flatbread with a juicy filling. The composition of the treat resembles shawarma, but it turns out to be healthier and lighter.

The popularity of the snack in question began with the fast food restaurant McDonald's. It is still served in the establishment, periodically offering guests new toppings and sauces. The classic Caesar roll recipe necessarily includes some kind of meat or fish component, as well as a large number of different vegetables. A special sauce complements the entire food mix.

Correct composition of products

It is impossible to answer which composition of products for such a treat is correct. It all depends on the taste preferences of the housewife and everyone at home. Thus, the classic recipe for the dish includes chicken meat, and its variations are offered with seafood and fish.

You can also choose different vegetables to suit your taste. Fresh tomatoes, any lettuce leaves, fresh cucumbers and sweet peppers are best suited for treats.

An important ingredient of the dish is cheese. You need to choose hard or semi-hard salted varieties of such a product. You can also experiment with soft cream cheese.

You can choose any thin flatbread as the basis for Caesar Roll. At home, it is most convenient to use Armenian lavash.

The calorie content of Caesar Roll depends on the ingredients of the treat. For the classic recipe it is 499 kcal per 100 g of product.

Traditional sauce for Caesar roll

  • salt and pepper mixture as desired.

Preparation:

Cooking like McDonald's

Ingredients:

  • 250 g chicken fillet;
  • 3 egg whites;
  • 6 pcs. cherry tomatoes;
  • 100 g of any fresh salad leaves;
  • 2 g light sesame seeds;
  • 10 g rusk crumbs;

  • 1 pinch of any aromatic herbs to taste;

  5. Place chicken pieces on the base. Cover everything with cheese and pour over a small amount of sauce.

Carefully wrap the pita bread and try the treat right away. This chicken recipe is especially popular among modern housewives.

Caesar Roll is an excellent alternative to sandwiches, healthier and lower in calories. This snack is convenient to take with you to work, on a picnic or on a long journey.

  • Almost any composition of Caesar can be served as an appetizer in pita bread, i.e. like a Caesar roll. Look at the collected selection on the website and choose from them the filling for the lavash roll.

    Serving in pita bread for a picnic is especially suitable. You can prepare lettuce, tomatoes, eggs, shrimp or other toppings and place them in containers or collect them in one large container. Take it with you in a separate jar or a purchased one (from a reliable manufacturer). Place the grated cheese either in a container or in a food bag. At the picnic, all that’s left to do is wrap all the ingredients in pita bread!

    I’ll show you how to prepare a Caesar roll using an example with shrimp. Sometimes I add pieces of salted red fish to the shrimp (the website has recipes for home-salted trout, salmon, coho salmon, and chum salmon). Shrimp also goes quite harmoniously with chicken, but this is not for everyone...

    To prepare a Caesar roll at home, prepare the ingredients according to the list.

    Boil the eggs. If you serve the roll right away, you can cook it until it reaches the “pouch” stage, i.e. when the white is completely set and the yolk is soft. If you are preparing a roll at a picnic some time after cooking, then cook it hard-boiled.

    Cut the cooled eggs into 6-8 pieces, cut the tomatoes into thin slices, tear lettuce (iceberg, romaine) with your hands or chop Chinese cabbage. Shrimp are usually sold boiled and frozen, so they just need to be thawed and peeled.

    For transport, place these prepared ingredients in separate containers or in one large container.

    For the roll, you can use either a whole pita bread or half of it - as you wish. The classic Caesar includes croutons. Decide for yourself whether to add them to the roll...

    Assemble Caesar roll to serve. Place pieces of lettuce and tomato slices on the pita bread.

    Add shrimp and egg pieces.

    Pour over the sauce, sprinkle with cheese and roll into a tight roll.

    For convenience, wrap half the roll in food paper or place it in a suitable food bag.

    Caesar roll is ready.

    Bon appetit!

    The child wanted a McDonald's Caesar roll, but bad luck, he didn't feel like going to McDonald's. But we have five across the street and I decided to make him a Caesar roll at home. This does not require complex or expensive ingredients, and preparation takes 15 minutes. The Caesar roll turns out very tasty, just like at McDonald's.

    So let's start preparing our roll. But first, let's see what we need.

    Caesar roll McDonald's

    🍲To prepare you will need:

    Ingredients: Quantity:
    Chicken breast (fillet) - 1 piece;
    Garlic - 1-2 slices;
    Ground black pepper (fresh) - taste;
    Ground paprika (sweet) - 1-2 teaspoons;
    Fine salt - taste;
    Starch - 1 teaspoon;
    Mayonnaise - for the sauce;
    Mustard is aromatic and spicy - for the sauce;
    Creamy garlic sauce - for the sauce;
    Sweet red onion - 1 piece;
    Tomato - 1 piece;
    Lavash sheet - 1-2 pieces;
    Lettuce (leaves) - small bunch;
    Cheese (whatever you like) - 70-100 grams.

    🍴Cooking process:

    1. Wash the purchased chicken breast well in running water. Cut the fillet into small slices and place the fillet in a bowl.

    2. Sprinkle the fillet with paprika, ground pepper, add a little salt and add starch. You also need to squeeze one clove of garlic onto the fillet pieces. Then mix everything well so that all the chicken pieces are coated.

    3. The marinated chicken pieces need to be fried in a small amount of oil. To do this, pour a small amount of oil into a frying pan and heat it, and then fry the plastic fillets.

    4. For the McDonald's Caesar roll, we will need sauce, but we will not prepare Caesar sauce, but will prepare homemade one. For the sauce, mix two types of mustard, mayonnaise and creamy garlic sauce.

    5. Then mix everything well to form a homogeneous mass. If you wish, you can add your favorite spices to the sauce.

    6. Cut the onion into rings or half rings, and the tomatoes into thin slices.

    7. Take the pita bread and cut a square out of it. Then spread the sauce in the center, from one edge to the other.

    8. Place a couple of lettuce leaves on the sauce, and then tomatoes and onions.

    10. I prepared two Caesar rolls and put canned corn in the second one, because I love that too.

    You can add your favorite toppings. For example, pickled cucumbers.

    11. Now you need to wrap one edge of the pita bread, to which the ingredients lie perpendicular. Then, starting from the side that is parallel to the ingredients, carefully wrap the roll.

    If you like a crispy crust on your Caesar roll, then you need to fry it in a dry frying pan on each side for 2 minutes on each side.

    Pour in homemade compote and the dish is ready.

    Bon appetit!
