Salmon is an incredibly healthy and tasty fish. And what’s doubly nice is that it’s very easy to prepare. It’s hard to spoil the taste of salmon dishes, because... it goes very well with many vegetables and side dishes. The main thing is not to fry the fish, because... at the same time, it loses most of all healthy fats, microelements and vitamins. In this article we will tell you in detail how to properly cook salmon steak in foil in order to get the maximum amount of vitamins and pleasure from this juicy and tender fish.

Recipe for salmon steaks baked in the oven in foil

This recipe will allow you to cook juicy fish with the most delicate taste.

Ingredients:

  • dill – 1 bunch;
  • salmon steak – 2 pcs.;
  • garlic – 3 cloves;
  • medium-sized lemon – 1 pc.;
  • – 45 g;
  • salt, marjoram, pepper.

Preparation

Finely chop the dill and crush the garlic using a press. Squeeze the juice out of the lemon; if there are seeds in it, remove them. Mix oil, marjoram, salt, lemon juice, pepper, garlic and dill in a bowl and mix well. Wash the steaks, dry them well and place in a deep plate, pour the resulting marinade on top. Marinate for about half an hour, then place the fish on a sheet of foil, folding the edges into a boat so that the top of the fish is open. Pour the marinade on top and place in the oven at 185 degrees.

There are many opinions about how long to bake a salmon steak in foil. It depends on the thickness of the steak. But no matter how thick your piece of fish is, we recommend cooking it for about 20 minutes, give or take 5 minutes. This time is enough for the fish to cook. The rest of the time it will simply dry out.

Salmon steak with vegetables in foil

Fish prepared according to this recipe will decorate both holiday and everyday tables. It is baked with a side dish, which greatly simplifies and shortens the preparation of the treat.

Ingredients:

  • lemon – ½ piece;
  • small tomato – 1 pc.;
  • salmon steak – 1 pc.;
  • onion – ½ pcs.;
  • garlic – 1 clove;
  • carrots – ½ pcs.;
  • potatoes – 1 pc.;
  • soy sauce (not salted) – 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • , olive oil.

Preparation

Cut the potatoes into thin slices, carrots and onions into half rings. Peel the tomato and cut into cubes. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, lemon juice, chopped garlic, fish spices, carrots and onions. Wash the steak, 2 centimeters thick, well and dry it. Place a large piece of foil with the shiny side up and grease it with oil. We lay out the potato slices in the form of a pillow for the fish, put the steak on top, put the tomatoes in the middle, and pour the marinade with vegetables on top. We carefully pack it so as not to damage the foil, otherwise all the juice will leak out during cooking. Bake for 20 minutes at 195 degrees.

Step 1: prepare the ingredients.

First, turn on the oven to preheat 180 degrees Celsius. Then we place clean salmon fillets with skin on the countertop; they are usually sold fresh, chilled or semi-frozen; if you purchased the latter option, then you should put the package in a bowl of cold water and leave it in this form for 30 minutes so that the fish thaws.
After that, we rinse it thoroughly, dip it in paper kitchen towels, sprinkle each piece on both sides with salt and ground black pepper to taste, move it to the bottom of the bowl and leave it at room temperature until used, until it sits and is just saturated with spices.


Then, using a clean knife, peel the carrots, parsley root, zucchini or zucchini and garlic. We remove the upper hard leaves from the celery stalk, and remove the stalk and gut the bell pepper from the seeds.
Then we wash these products along with the tomato and herbs, dry them, place them one by one on a cutting board and continue preparing. Chop the tomato into rings up to 1 centimeter thick, transfer to a clean bowl, you will need it later.
We cut the rest of the vegetables into shapes or chop them into small pieces of arbitrary shape ranging in size from 1 to 1.5 centimeters, finely chop the greens, squeeze the garlic through a special press and move on.
Place the crushed ingredients into a non-stick or heat-resistant baking dish, sprinkle with thyme, ground bay leaf, black pepper and salt to taste. Gently mix everything with clean hands, season the vegetable mass with a tablespoon of olive oil, pour in a glass of purified water and move on.

Step 2: prepare vegetables and fish for baking.



Place the entire length of the salmon fillet on a vegetable bed, rub the remaining vegetable oil into it, that is, 2 tablespoons, and, if desired, crush with an additional portion of spices.


Then we separate a large piece of aluminum food foil, tighten it over the form with the still raw dish, so that there are no gaps, and proceed to the next, rather lengthy, but almost final step.

Step 3: bake the salmon in the oven with vegetables.



We check the oven, if it has warmed up to the desired temperature, place the dish with fish and vegetables on the middle rack. Bake them for 12–15 minutes, during which they will reach half-ready. After this, we put oven mitts on our hands, move the hot dish with the already aromatic-smelling deliciousness onto a cutting board, previously placed on the countertop, and very carefully, so as not to get burned, remove the foil from it. Then we place tomato rings on the salmon and, without covering, put this dish back into the oven, but this time 15–20 minutes.


During this time, the liquid in the pan will evaporate, the fish will release juice, which will soak the vegetables, and everything will be baked until fully cooked.


Using oven mitts, move the form onto the same board, let the dish cool a little, using a kitchen spatula, distribute it in portions onto plates, put it on the table and invite the family to a meal!

Step 4: serve the salmon in the oven with vegetables.



Salmon in the oven with vegetables is served hot as a complete second course for a hearty lunch or dinner. This dish is served in portions on plates with some unobtrusive side dish, for example, mashed potatoes, salad, boiled rice, pasta or porridge from various cereals. As a bonus for such a delicious dish, you can offer sauces based on tomatoes, sour cream, cream or mayonnaise; various pastes made from mushrooms, beans, or whatever you like are also suitable.
