Quite often I spoil my loved ones with such a basic dish as sausages in dough. I don’t like to bother with kneading yeast dough, so I choose a win-win option - ready-made puff pastry from a trusted manufacturer.

Just 15 minutes to prepare the dough (taking into account that the dough is defrosted in advance), 20 minutes in the oven, and a wonderful alternative to hot sandwiches is ready!

With this recipe, I assure you that even an inexperienced cook can cook it quickly and deliciously!

Ingredients

puff pastry (frozen) – 500 g

milk sausages (long) – 10 pcs.

chicken egg – 1 pc.

sesame – 2 tbsp. l.

flour - for rolling out dough

Since the dough for the buns is store-bought, it must first be thawed for 1 hour on a large cutting board sprinkled with flour.

It is better to use dairy sausages. Choose any size you like; for example, I take thin and long ones, and then cut each one in half. Remove sausages from casings.

Puff pastry, unlike yeast dough, does not need to be proofed, so after defrosting it, you can immediately roll it out to a thickness of 5 mm. Divide the dough layer in half, and then cut into strips, each 1.5-2 cm wide.

Place a sausage on the edge of the strip and wrap it with dough. If the dough strips are long (like mine), then you can close the ends; if, on the contrary, you can leave the edges of the bun open.

Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper and grease with vegetable oil. Place the prepared sausages on it, at a short distance from each other, since during the baking process they will gain more volume.

Brush the top of each piece with egg or yolk. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the buns for 20-25 minutes.

As soon as the buns acquire a golden brown color and become fluffy, you can remove them from the oven.

Especially delicious freshly prepared sausages! This dish is perfect for a picnic or just for a snack!

I don’t want to waste time and energy on baking, much less fiddling with dough?! Then this is the place for you! I offer an excellent alternative - sausages in puff pastry. A delicious hearty dish, easy to prepare from the simplest ingredients - you only need a layer of ready-made frozen dough and sausages. Sausages in dough are perfect for breakfast, for a picnic, or just for kids as a snack.
We offer you a recipe for sausages in puff pastry; we will use store-bought dough; in order to diversify this seemingly banal recipe, we offer several options for how to wrap sausages in dough.

Easy

Ingredients

  • sausages – 6 pcs.
  • purchased puff pastry – 1 sheet
  • egg – 1 pc.
  • cheese – 100 gr.
  • salted or pickled cucumber – 1 pc.
  • vegetable oil – 2 tbsp. l.

Preparation

Thaw the finished puff pastry sheet at room temperature for 20 minutes. By the way, the dough is suitable for both yeast and yeast-free dough.
Sprinkle the surface of the table with a little flour (1 tablespoon will be enough), place the dough on it and also sprinkle with flour.

Roll out the dough using a rolling pin into a thin rectangular layer 2-3 mm thick. Cut into long strips about 2 cm wide. The number of strips should match the number of sausages.

Prepare the sausages. Peel them from the artificial casing and cut them in half lengthwise (this is to save money; of course, you can leave the sausages whole). There is no need to pre-cook the sausages.

Take one sausage and a strip of dough, carefully wrap the sausage in a spiral with the dough so that the edges of the dough overlap each other and the sausage is completely wrapped in it.

To slightly refine and diversify the taste, I suggest wrapping a piece of cheese with the sausage. To do this, cut the cheese the size of a sausage into any thickness.

Or a quarter of a pickled cucumber - it will be very tasty.

Grease a baking sheet with oil and place the pieces (or place them on a sheet of parchment paper). Brush the top with a fork-beaten egg.
Do not pack tightly, as the dough will increase in size during cooking.

Place a baking sheet in the preheated oven. Cooking time 20 minutes at a temperature of 180 0C. The readiness of the dish is determined by the appearance of a beautiful golden brown crust.
Sausages in puff pastry are good both hot and cold; this is the kind of dish that you can give to your child for a snack at school, take with you on a short trip, or just enjoy in the evening in front of the TV.

Fast food is recognized as food that does not carry any value. However, sometimes you really want to treat yourself to a delicious white meat or sausage in a bun! Buying “goodies” somewhere in an alley is dangerous to your health, because the products may be of poor quality. But if you make the same fast food at home, for example, sausages in puff pastry, it will be harmless and will cost much less.

When preparing fast food at home, we can be absolutely sure of the quality of the products that were used, because we choose them ourselves. Sausages wrapped in dough turn out fluffy, soft, and flavorful. With them there is no shame in meeting a friend who has dropped by for tea; you can take them with you to work or on the road as a “brakes”. Puff pastry is considered the best “clothing” for sausages. After baking, it turns out crispy, airy and does not weigh down the dish. After such fast food there is no heartburn or feeling of heaviness in the stomach. Of course, you can choose another version of the “wrapper”, not bake it in the oven, but fry it in a frying pan, but puff pastry continues to be a fast food classic.

A simple recipe for a delicious dish with photos

You can make puff pastry yourself or buy it at the store. Many people prefer the latter option, as it involves less hassle. The dough for sausages must lie in the refrigerator for some time - then it will be cut better and will not stick to the table. Choose sausages according to your taste.

Crispy fried sausages

If you do not have the opportunity to cook fast food at home in the oven, you can fry sausages in dough in a frying pan. In this case, they will be less healthy, but will remain just as aromatic and crispy.

  • vegetable oil for frying.

  7. Place the finished products on a paper towel to remove any remaining fat.
  8. Serve hot.

Sausages on a stick

  • 0.5 kg puff pastry;
  • 8 skewers;
  • vegetable oil.

  1. Remove the wrapper from the sausages.
  2. Place each of them on skewers.

  4. Cut it into thin strips.
  5. Place the sausage on the edge of the strip and wrap it in a spiral.
  6. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat well.
  7. Fry the products on both sides until they are covered with a golden crust.
  8. Place the finished sausages on a paper towel, dry and then serve.

  • There are various ways to design products, and the type of dough (yeast or yeast-free) does not matter. Depending on your preference, you can wrap the sausages as follows.
  • Classic spiral. The sausage is placed on the edge of the dough strip and folded diagonally overlapping.
  • Braided. Cut a large layer of dough into 4 parts. Place a sausage in the center of each resulting square and cut the edges into a Christmas tree shape. Brush the inside of the dough with egg white and wrap the strips into a braid shape.
  • Candy. Roll out the dough and cut into long strips a little more than half the height of a sausage. Cut the filling in half and place on the edge of the strip. Wrap the filling in a tube. Secure the ends with pieces of foil and form bows. Lightly pierce the middle with a fork.
  • Ladder. Roll the sausage into a tube and divide into rings, without cutting slightly to the end. Unwrap the sausage and place it carefully on a baking sheet.
  • Flower. Cut the sausage wrapped in a tube into 7 pieces. Form them into a flower, turning each part vertically in one direction, leaving one part for the core.

If you are a fan of homemade baking, then cook sausages in puff pastry and treat your family to an appetizing and satisfying meal. Sausages in dough can be bought in the supermarket in the ready-to-cook departments, but they taste nothing like homemade ones. I prefer to bake only at home and have long given up store-bought baked goods.

To prepare, you will need to buy ready-made puff pastry and high-quality sausages. Sausages can be boiled or smoked, at your discretion. The baked goods are perfect for snacking on the road, at a picnic, or for children at school. From this quantity of products you get four sausages in puff pastry.

For cooking, take these products.

We sell puff pastry dough frozen. I take out one rectangular layer and leave it at room temperature for 30-50 minutes. The dough should become a little softer. I put it on a dusty board and roll it out lightly.

I cut the rolled out dough along the long side into four strips approximately 4-5 cm wide.

I place a sausage on each strip and wrap it in a spiral. Fix the edges of the dough slightly.

Transfer the sausages to a baking dish. Beat a chicken egg, or you can use one yolk. Lubricate with a kitchen brush. Sprinkle with sesame or flax seeds. You don't have to sprinkle at all. Place the form in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake for 30-50 minutes until golden brown.

Sausages in puff pastry are ready. Cool to room temperature and invite everyone to a tasting.

Enjoy your meal!

1. First you need to defrost the sausage dough. We sell complex dough in threes. We cut it at the folds and cut each part into strips 2-3 centimeters wide. Roll out each strip to a thickness of a couple of mm. Why so thin - so that you have a lot of sausage and just enough dough.

2. For the recipe we used very long sausages, so we had to cut them in half. We wrap each sausage in the dough with an overlap. Entrust this task to the children, they will be happy to help you make this yummy treat.

3. Beat the egg with a fork. You can add a little salt or pepper to it.

4. Place the sausages on a baking sheet lined with paper or greased with oil. Brush the top of the sausage with beaten egg. This is necessary for them to brown. You can also sprinkle the dough with sesame seeds.

5. Bake sausages at 220 degrees for 15–20 minutes. The dough should brown, so use your oven as a guide. Why such high baking temperatures? Because puff pastry will not rise at a lower temperature, and the layers will stick together.
Allow the finished sausages time to cool. Now you can eat them. Ketchup, mayonnaise, herbs and fresh vegetables - everything that can give you a real holiday snack, either at home or on the street.
